Technology has been a useful tool in improving education in many countries around the world. Though some people are not satisfied with what technology has brought to education, it is undisputable that technological integration is an important part of modern education. In fact, the use of modern technologies has created a big impact on education per se and has touched the lives of millions of students and teachers. There are certain problems, in education, that technology can solve, including problems that concern students with disabilities and urban students, as well as the low rate of high school graduates. In some ways, technology can help to solve these problems. Here are the top 3 ways that technology can improve education:
Assistive Technology for Students with Disabilities
The educational experience of students with disabilities is often limited because of their conditions. Many are not able to finish even high school. However, this sad fact can be altered by the integration of technology in the classroom. Through assistive technology, the educational experience of students with disabilities will increase as they become more motivated to learn.
There are useful tools that teachers can use to improve the situation of these students in the classroom. These include sensory enhancers and alternative input devices. Sensory enhancers will help students enhance their learning abilities. Some of the sensory enhancers that can be used include speech synthesizers and voice analyzers. Alternative input devices can also be used to help students use different educational technologies much more easily.
In-classroom Technology for Increased Rate of High School Graduates
Since the emergence of new technology in 1997, high school graduate rates have gradually increased. This is simply because of the convenience it brings to students. Thanks to educational technologies, students don’t have to battle with many of the difficulties of traditional learning.
With the help of in-classroom technology, more and more students become enthusiastic and motivated to learn and finish their studies. Technology also improves the quality of teaching, which the students wholeheartedly embrace. The integration of technology into classrooms also improves the learning experience of students and gives them limitless opportunities to show their skills and abilities. Given that the learning experiences of students are now customized, students can easily express themselves, thus giving them the inspiration to continue learning until they get their precious diplomas.
Mobile Technology to Fight Stereotype against Urban Students
The learning experiences of rural students are often limited. Also, most students in rural places are not given the same privileges as students in urban areas because of their location. Nonetheless, technology has an answer to this.
Through mobile technology, rural students will also experience convenience inside the classroom. They will have the same privileges that students in urban areas have. Their academic achievements will also increase as their learning experiences become more motivating and satisfying. Additionally, learning will become more individualized since students will have their gadgets and learning tools to use for their homework and projects.
Though technology may not be the answer to all problems in education, it’s still nice to see that the result of technological integration with education somehow improves the quality of present education.
