Tips on how to Win Back Lost Clients

Tips on how to Win Back Lost Clients

Let’s be honest, not all sales pitches are a success. There are numerous reasons as to why this happens. It could be that you were not able to address their needs, thus leading them to bring their business somewhere else, or it could be that you simply haven’t offered them anything that could interest them.

These things are inevitable, but it is not impossible to win back lost customers. Regardless of the reason they moved their business somewhere else, there are ways to win them back. Why all this hassle? Is it not better to just leave them be?

Statistics show that a business survives because of repeat customers and that satisfied customers are your best marketers as they will bring more potential customers. Here are tips on how:

Know why

Knowing the exact reason your customers left in the first place is the best way to win them back. Of course, whatever their reason may be, know that you should not take them personally unless, of course, you handled them in a way that they didn’t like. The most common reason is that you have not properly offered them the best solution or product that they are looking for. To address all this, you have to spend time doing your research. For instance, if they wanted a property with a bigger kitchen space, then offer them one. Look for properties with these specifications and be ready with all the details and the numbers before you approach your client again.

Take responsibility

It is never easy to take responsibility, but it is also beneficial to humble oneself. If you made a mistake, say you misinformed them, quickly apologize, and give them the right information. Doing this can win their trust back and would even win back your credibility.

Ask for more Information

There is nothing wrong when you ask your customers if it is OK to keep the communication open. This only means that you still value them as clients. Tell them that you still want to keep in touch by giving them information about your business from time to time. However, before sending them all the juicy information right away, make sure that you have asked for their permission. You do not want your email address to be on their spam list or for them to report you to the Better Business Bureau because of unsolicited calls.

Use a different approach

If you were too serious and professional during your first meeting, which could have intimated your clients, you can present yourself as being more khaki and casual. This way, your clients will know that you are willing to be flexible and accommodating just to gain their business back.

Be positive

As they always say, “whatever it is in your mind, the universe will conspire,” so make sure that you attract positivity not only to your life but also to your business. Take one step at a time, and surely, your lost customers will see the same radiance and will soon lower their flags to give you another chance.
