In the pursuit of education technology, the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) was established to provide an avenue for people to have access to state and federal EdTech policies and promote tools for learning. For more than three decades now, ISTE has conducted an annual conference and expo for educators around the world. It is a global forum where people from the academe, chief technology officers, policy makers, administrators, and other specialists gather for the latest professional learning in the field of EdTech.

What is ISTE?

ISTE is a global membership association advancing EdTech. It is open for those who come from the academe, educators, and education leaders. The ISTE is an advocate of forwarding excellence in learning and teaching through the use of technology in PK-12 and teacher education. It is a great venue for stakeholders around the world to meet and exchange ideas. It has a strong membership of more than 100,000 professionals globally. The wide reach of its membership provides collaborative networking opportunities for educators and policy-makers all over the world.

What should you know about ISTE 2016?

Last year, ISTE 2015 was held in Philadelphia. For the year 2016, the ISTE is a four-day event from June 26 to June 29. The conference will be held at a Colorado Convention Center in Denver. Among the mission sponsors are some of the most trusted and well-known brands in technology and innovation: Samsung, Dell, Google and Microsoft. The event will not only include an exhibition from leading and trusted products and services targeted to education professionals, but there will be more than 1,000 sessions in various formats that will cater to the differing interests of the attendees.

There is also a preconference program, ISTE Learning Academies, for a more innovative and in-depth learning experience of the latest technology. There will be three keynote speakers for this event: Michio Kaku, Ruha Benjamin, and Michelle Cordy. They are highly regarded professionals in the field of EdTech.
