Burnouts can happen to anyone, especially if you are working to the point of exhaustion, and you have lost control of your work-life balance. There are many causes, but, what’s more important is to recognize the signs and the best way that you can eliminate burnouts.
Mental and Physical Exhaustion
If you feel spent every single day at work, even if you don’t have a ton of work to do, this can be a sign of a burnout. It’s not just exhaustion in a physical sense, but in an emotional and mental sense as well. It’s having no energy to do anything else and feeling depleted at the end of each day.
Lack of Motivation
If you dread going to work each morning, or if you think about going away on vacation and never coming back, or if you fantasize weekends that never end, that sounds like a burnout. If you could be anywhere in the world except at the office working, and you would go in a heartbeat, in severe cases, you may also resort to unhealthy habits, like eating too much, to be able to cope.
Irregular Sleep Patterns
It’s either you can’t have a restful sleep at night, or you just sleep too much. Your work stress keeps you up at night or causes you to oversleep so that you don’t have to think about work.
You feel disappointment, frustration, or cynicism. Lately, you have just been mean, pessimistic, or plain disillusioned. It’s normal to feel negative emotions once in a while, but for a person experiencing burnout, it’s almost an everyday occurrence, which is unusual behavior. This also affects your relationships with your work colleagues and your friends and family.

You can run, dance, mountain climb, bike, swim, or simply take a walk. You can go out on dates or see your friends for coffee or dinner. You can also visit your family and spend an entire weekend just catching up and sharing stories.
When it’s time to rest and relax, switch off your mobile phone or other gadgets at home. This way, you don’t have to deal with anything work-related, even for just a few hours. Make sure that you get plenty of sleep, because this is the fastest and easiest way that you can relax the mind and the body.
