About the College
The Moritz College of Law is the pride and glory of Ohio State University. It was established in 1891 and has always ranked first among the law schools in the state of Ohio. It is a community comprised of over 500 students and 60 faculty members, working hand in hand to be able to provide high-quality legal services once they become bona fide lawyers. Its alumni serve as living testimony to its continuous pursuit of excellence. Some served in public office as senators, representatives, and Supreme Court justices.
Due to its immense effort to implement rigorous curricula, pioneering research among the faculty, and encouraging professional growth, the Moritz College of Law has progressed into one of the country’s highly respected law schools in the world.
Academic and Technical Challenge
The Moritz College of Law of Ohio State University fosters a learning environment that is innovative and constantly keeps up with the changing times. Students are being trained to use specialized and comprehensive materials such as judicial opinions, contracts, jury instructions, and statutes in addition to the standard references assigned to them. Along with the numerous learning materials being utilized in the classrooms, the use of paper has become highly impractical. Many academic institutions today have switched to digital references. In light of this, simplified tools must be made available for the students to maximize learning without the need to spend extra time trying to learn how to use the digital references.
Kami Rises Up to the Challenge
Holly Cline is a second-year student in the Moritz College of Law. Her textbook in one of her subjects was entirely digital. Since she does a better job taking notes on paper but did not want to print the entire book, she looked for a way to take notes on the file itself. A quick search in Google led her to Kami. The application has enabled her to highlight, annotate, and add text in the margins. The changes that she made can be saved online. It is also compatible in different online platforms such as Google Chrome.
Ever since she started using Kami, she has been using it every day for preparing for her classes. She describes the application as easy, efficient, and easily accessible. What she likes best about the application is that she can copy items directly from Kami as plain text, which makes it a lot easier to add points from her textbook to her digital notes. Kami has reduced the burden of taking down notes for her so much that she highly recommends it to everyone who has the same predicament as her.
Why Kami Works for Law Students
Law schools all over the world ensure that their students know a standard set of legal concepts that will make them equipped to become the best lawyers. This involves using a lot of references. The effects of global warming are now being felt more than ever. As an initiative to help mitigate the destruction of the environment, schools are being encouraged to do their part by becoming paperless in the classroom and encourage digital learning.
Kami is available to facilitate the simpler use of PDF files. The interface was developed to be clean and clutter-free so that it will be readily accessible, and annotations can be done in a jiffy. Due to its ability to be connected to Google Drive, collaboration is possible. It is a very useful feature for law students since they need to employ different communication methods in practicing legal work. Indeed, the beneficial effects of Kami will help hone the best lawyers in the future.
