It was a whirlwind, but we made it! ISTE 2018 has been by far our biggest conference yet, and we’ve got to say, we are pretty proud of how things went.
For anyone reading this who doesn’t know what ISTE is, here’s the scoop:
ISTE, short for International Society of Technology in Education is one of the worlds largest and longest-running educational technology conferences. ISTE began at a backyard barbecue in Eugene, Oregon, with a tight-knit group of forward-thinking K-12 and University educators. Almost 40 years later, more than 20,000 EdTech lovers flocked to Chicago for ISTE 2018. ISTE inspires educators worldwide to use technology to innovate teaching and learning, accelerate good practice and solve tough problems educators face in 2018.
After the success of ISTE 2017, we decided to up the ante, and pour even more energy into 2018. We flew the majority of our team from New Zealand, Florida, and New York to Chicago. We doubled the size of our booth, presented in the Google booth, sponsored presentations, and hosted live demos in the Kami booth with the help of Ben Sondgeroth and Debra Atchison!
Over the three days of ISTE, we talked to hundreds of Kami users and received an overwhelming amount of fantastic feedback. With new Kami Tools to introduce, it was exciting hearing feedback on our tools and features such as Google Classroom Integration, Text to Speech, Speech to Text, iPad functionality, Video Comment, and stylus support. All of the above tools are available on the Kami Teacher Plan that we gave away free trials of. #NotAtISTE? Not to worry! The success of ISTE 2018 was more than welcome, as months of hard work and organization had gone into this conference. Personally, the best part of ISTE is the face to face interaction with so many of our users. It is so nice to see the same people coming back to our booth year after year to tell us how Kami has improved things for them in their classroom. We are really proud of Kami, and seeing all of you enjoying using Kami makes us even prouder.
Thank you all for making ISTE 2018 awesome!
